Avayava – Contemporary Dance Festival, Pune is a one of a kind contemporary dance festival organised in Pune by Swapnil Dagliya and Space Studios.

Intensive International Workshops | More than 30 hours of Dance | Screening of Dance on Film | Performances | More than 10 Amazing Artists

At the festival we host breathtaking performances by world-renowned International choreographers. It will also include cutting edge and socially relevant works by emerging choreographers, site-specific performances, intensive & master classes, seminars, workshops & interactive sessions, dance on film and installations/exhibitions around the city. Annually, the festival is organised around Easter and in 2014 it will be scheduled from the 10-13 of April.

Shaa’ir+Func

For this weekend Ride, Pune Running have planned a journey to Ramdhara, with a ride to Rulapur Riverside. It is a 39km round trip and will include breakfast.

Laughing Buddha

Laughing Buddha is UK Producer and DJ Jeremy van Kampen. A former guitarist, his inspiration for producing trance was kick started by the Goa parties of the early 90s.  His first release was the ‘Cannabanoid’ EP on Transient records under the name Cosmosis with Bill Halsey in 1995. This partnership went on to produce a top selling album ‘Cosmology’ and a string of hits such as ‘Morphic Resonance’ and ‘Gift of the Gods’. They also released the singles ‘Infinite depths’ and ‘Karma’ on T.I.P. Records as Laughing Buddha. He will be performing in Pune this time.

Pune Heritage Cycle Ride

Pune has been a cycle city. It is common to see men and women at all ages cycle away despite the busy traffic. Enjoy the city as you cycle with us to some very interesting heritage landmarks including, among other, Trishund Ganpati, St. Mary Church, Phule Wada. Approximately 10km route starts from Shaniwar Wada, traverses the buzzing lanes of Peth Pune, goes all the way to the Cantonment area and back to Shaniwar Wada. We halt at some sites where a guide explains the significance and heritage value of the place. Refreshments available at the end.

Modi Jagachi Olakh: Introduction Session on Modi Script

Modi is one of the historical scripts used during medieval and colonial times for official correspondences and various forms of writing. Over the years, the use of the script reduced. Join us in this this introductory session to explore the fascinating world of Modi. The session shall include an Introduction to Modi script, the alphabets, practicals and influences of Persian language while using the Modi script. Then visit the BISM’s museum housing Modi documents, Modi archives and facets of their study. First fifty participants will get two booklets on Modi provided by Dhavale Publication.

Shaniwar Wada & Lal Mahal Walk

Two sites that have left a permanent mark on India’s history are located right in our city! Shivaji’s Lal Mahal and the palace of the Peshwas, Shaniwar Wada. Tree Walk

Trees have their own ways celebrating spring! Kamla Nehru Park, a popular jogger’s park between Prabhat road and Bhandarkar road, has over 300 trees of wide variety and several different species of flower plants. Janwani along with the Nature Walk Outdoors is organizing a Tree Walk for all nature enthusiasts. Join us for a walk through the park and get a chance to interact with the tree experts!

Kathak Nrityasandha

At this holy place, which is also the residence of Lord Shiva, the program will begin with seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. In this performance episodes of mythological stories of Lord Shiva and Parvati, will be narrated through dancing. The dance will be performed by Gauri Swakul and Kalarthee.
