Buddhist Film Festival

Buddhist film festivalThe third edition of Buddhist Film Festival will be organised by the Pune International Centre in collaboration with the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC). The Festival will showcase 14 films – features and documentaries – on Buddhist themes from nine Asian and Western countries. They reveal the myriad streams of Buddhism practiced around the world, yet all directed towards ‘the Inner Path’. The films will be screened at the NFAI auditorium. Entry is free and on a first come first served basis. NFAI Auditorium rules will be applicable.

Human and Nature

humanandnatureBliss Art Gallery presents Nature and Human featuring artists Paresh Mutha and Vishnupriya Lele Mukherjee. Paresh has been sketching for over a decade now and figures and faces feature hevily in his work. He uses charcoal and soft pastels.Vishnupriya, an amateur artist has always felt a strong affection towards nature and this is reflected perceptibly through my paintings. She uses oil on canvas and uses acryclic colours for glass paintings.

A Date with Alice

adatewithaliceGyaan Adab is celebrating 150 years of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland with a lovely Mad Tea Party. You can come in dressed as your favourite character and listen to some curious facts about the book and readings of interesting parts. Some clips from the film will also be played. You can also take part in the wonderful lobster quadrille song and dance at the end of the evening.

Talk by Sudha Menon

sudhamenonAuthor and columnist Sudha Menon for a talk about her latest book ‘Gifted’ and the inspiring people she met in the process at The Loft. Sometime in 2013, a former journalist and best-selling non-fiction author, Sudha Menon, set out on a journey into the unknown. She was about to write a book about the lives of people with disability and would spend the next year interviewing dozens of people with different disabilities. Sudha Menon is an author, a columnist and a writing coach, and spent over 20 years as a journalist with leading newspapers. She is the author of three non-fiction books.

When the groom’s family lands in the bride’s house on a Sunday afternoon to see her – is when all hell breaks loose. The play is a laugh riot with a serious message at the end.
