Wedding bliss at Westin
It is the season of weddings and it seems very normal that you take a project around it, if you are into business of hospitality. The Westin Pune Koregaon Park is, no doubt, a premium hotel catering to every need of both travellers and the local clientele. And since last year, they have organised ‘Weddings at Westin’, a two-day one-stop shop for perfect wedding planning. Right from decorators, card-makers, jewellers to photographers, designers and travel planners, all were seen at The Westin to help the couple’s dream come true.
The second edition was organised on March 29-30, but the tagline for this season was ‘We make your dream wedding come true’. Apart from the usual stalls and fashion shows, the hotel was host to a couple’s wedding from the NGO Maher. The hotel sponsored the under-privileged couple’s grand wedding. The couple were Sonal Warnik and Suresh Gadde. On the occasion of the wedding and the edition, Sujeet Kumar, General Manager, The Westin Pune Koregaon Park added, “I am delighted to be a part of this grand initiative and we felt that the theme of Weddings at Westin edition two was the perfect opportunity for us to focus on doing something special.”
There was also fashion show for invitees by designers Vikram Phadnis, Prerna and Aishwarya while jewellery designers Golecha and Jewels by Queenie. All of them showed some special creations around the wedding theme. Despite a late start, people applauded for the collection shown on the ramp and quite a few could be found clicking photographs. While Vikram’s collection was an interesting mix of traditional and contemporary using subtle colours, Aishwarya’s collection went the traditional way with only a slight contemporary touch. Prerna’s designs were inspired by nature and architecture.
Queenie Dhody’s jewellery collection via Jewels by Queenie was quite the sight as her hand-made collection were the perfect high end designs, complete with precious and semi-precious stones. Golecha’s Jewels, aptly titled Royale India, had everyone clapping for it, as they were inspired by India aristocracy and were as regal as it gets. All this was a perfect start for the two-day event where one got to see a complete wedding exhibition for your needs. Who says five stars like The Westin Pune Koregaon Park and a perfect wedding do not go hand in hand?
