Even after the country went into Unlock 1.0, businesses are facing a huge hit during the pandemic. The city’s largest body of traders, The Federation of All Trade Association of Pune are looking to move traders from Laxmi Road and relocate them near the Ring Road on the border of Pune city.

There are numerous containment zones around the locality and people are scared to shop in the area. The traders are looking at settling down on an 800-acre land owned by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

According to members of the Trade Association, it’s what shopkeepers and shoppers both need right now. Not only is it safer for people, it will also solve other issues like congestion, traffic and space in the small lanes of the Peths.

There is also talk of a Convention & Fair Centre on the new location.
