Pune, we recently welcomed our very first three-coach metro train in Pimpri-Chinchwad on Sunday! It arrived in a 12-axle truck from Nagpur and there was a Dhol Tasha squad present to welcome it with a bang!

The metro’s civil work was completed in record time and the arrival of the train is another huge milestone for the project. After a few mandatory inspections, trial runs will be conducted, likely in January.

These coaches will be placed at the Sant Tukaram Nagar station, which is the only station on Pune Metro named after the great saint. It is the second station of the Pune Metro Line 1 PCMC-Swagate (16.589 km long). This line will have 14 stations, five underground and nine elevated.

Initially, the Pune Metro system will operate with three coaches and then increase to six, depending on traffic requirements.
