Punekars, more great news! A group of eight students have set up an open library at the Jeet Playground in Kothrud. The library will be accessible to everyone for free and is open 24×7. This is one of the best initiatives we’ve witnessed!

The concept has been introduced so Pune’s residents get into the habit of reading more as well as share books of their own.

The Open Library Movement currently has a collection of around 200 books and plans to add more soon. The students do not want to take any financial help and only want books and bookshelves as donations.

Working on the principle of ‘for the people, by the people and of the people’, the library has a collection of religious books, English and Marathi novels and study material too.

The group is planning on opening several more such libraries by next year. We too, can contribute by sharing our books.

This is heartwarming news, isn’t it? Share it with everyone you know and also share as many books as you can!
