Pune: After multiple demands from traders in the city, the city’s administration has scrapped the P1-P2 rule for shops, all of which will now be open everyday of the week (9 am – 7 pm), starting August 5.
Pune’s traders met with the Deputy CM on Tuesday regarding the matter and the PMC Commissioner subsequently released an order, allowing all non-essential shops to remain open on both sides of the road.
Shop owners are delighted with the decision and expect business to get back to normal soon.
A similar order was issued in Mumbai recently and after numerous letters sent to Pune’s administration by traders opposing the odd-even rule, the city has followed suit.
