Having taken charge of beds in three private hospitals in the city, Pune Municipal Corporation has added at least another 180 beds under its wing.

Beds in Devyani Hospital, Poona Hospital and Inlaks Budhrani Hospital have been reserved by PMC for Covid patients. For now, other than Covid treatment, these hospitals will carry out only non-Covid emergency surgeries.

The hospitals’ management will continue to be in charge, PMC only intends to secure their beds for patients.

This move comes subsequent to people not being able to find beds on time. According to PMC, this will ensure timely treatment.

If required, the city’s administration will consider taking over control of more hospitals.
