Pune: In some major news, state Chief Minister Mr. Uddhav Thackeray announced the reopening of up to 4 lac restaurants, bars and small eateries from the first week of October.

The F&B industry took a huge hit since the nation-wide lockdown first commenced in March of this year.

While takeaways and home deliveries restarted sometime back, this news of going back to dine-in comes as a big relief to the industry.

Establishments will start at only 50% of their capacity as per norms set by the state government. The decision will provide direct employment to 60 lac people and 1.8 Crore indirectly.

Of course, social distancing, usage of hand sanitisers and masks will be mandatory.

Under normal circumstances, the hospitality industry generates around INR 18,000/- Crore worth of revenue for the government.

How do you feel about this decision, Punekars? Would you visit your favourite restaurants and bars? Let us know!
