Five districts in the state of Maharashtra, namely Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Satara, will receive heavy rainfall this week.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert for the regions, with varying dates for each. In the case of Pune and Satara, the warning is for Friday, July 3.
Raigad and Ratnagiri have been warned for July 2 and 3 and Sindhudurg for July 2.
Pune witnessed heavy rains in many areas on Monday, June 29, and was the wettest city in the state on the day. Many localities faced water-logging issues towards late evening.
We’ll take this as one more reason to stay home as much as possible, Punekars!
