Gyan Setu Melava – Contribute
Gyan-Setu (https://gyansetu-earc.in/), a program which was initiated in Aug 2013 by EARC – Jnana Prabodhini, Pune, has been conducting science workshops in remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Jammu-Kashmir through visits by volunteers. This has been made possible primarily because of the enthusiastic participation from volunteers, like you.
On the occasion of the Republic day of India, Jan 26, 2015, they are organising an event “Gyan-Setu Melava“. The primary aim of the Melava, which is held twice a year (Aug 15 and Jan 26), is to reach out to as many people as possible, inform them about Gyan-Setu and about ways in which they can contribute. Along with a speech by a chief guest and experience shared by volunteers, the new addition to Gyan-Setu Melava on Jan 26 is an exhibition, displaying culture, exhibits and Gyan-Setu activities in each state. People from regional partner organisations will also be participating in this Melava.
Their programs consist of visits to these states by volunteer teams to conduct science-based workshops for school children.
This initiative aims at inculcating a feeling of “National Integration” among volunteers through organising “joyful hands-on science workshops” for school students in these remote areas. They thus strive to build communication bridges (“Setu”) to commence a healthy dialogue to exchange knowledge (“Gyan”).
“Gyan-Setu” invites you to participate in this year-long activity for connecting people through knowledge exchange.
