After seven months of being shut, religious places in Pune and the rest of Maharashtra are all set to reopen today.
The state’s CM announced that places of worship will be opening up in the state on November 16 with new guidelines, including face masks being mandatory when visiting.
If you’re wondering about Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple and Shirdi’s Sai Baba Temple, then yes, those will be opening today too.
Gates were opened at midnight last night so the places could be cleaned and sanitised before devotees visit to offer prayers today.
For now, Prasad and offerings like even flowers will not be allowed.
For the temple in Shirdi, only people who have made an online booking for a slot to visit will be allowed inside the temple. People will also have to show a Covid-negative RT-PCR report at the entrance. Children, pregnant women and senior citizens will not be allowed inside. Only up to 6000 people will be able to enter the temple on any given day.
If you do visit a place of worship, make sure you’re wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing, Punekars!
