According to the State Government’s Unlock 3.0 directives, malls in Pune city are all set to open up again on Wednesday, August 5 after being shut since the initial lockdown at the end of March.
Some states in the country had already opened up malls during Unlock 1.0, but due to a massive rise in cases in Maharashtra, the decision was put off until now.
Movie theatres, food courts and restaurants in mall complexes will remain shut for now. Kitchens will be allowed to open up only for deliveries.
While the mall-going experience will not be the same as it used to, these measures are crucial in order to keep people safe.
Malls in the city will be following extremely strict guidelines- crowd management, social distancing rules, sanitisation and cleanliness, temperature checks will all be part of the new normal.
Maintaining social distancing and wearing a mask in public spaces are key in not contracting Covid-19. Not only mall authorities, but also the public need to follow these rules to ensure the health and safety of one another.
