The 15th of October, 2016 is a day that no fashionista is going to forget. The much awaited and much loved brand H&M opened its doors to Pune, at Phoenix Marketcity, on this very day. It was all Pune talked about that weekend and for more reasons than one. We decided to cover the launch with MeowwStory and give you the deets as well as a sneak peek into their fall collection.

Hundreds had queued up outside the store front in anticipation and for the giveaways. H&M decided to reward their first customers rather generously with gift cards worth Rs.10,000, Rs.7,500 and Rs. 5,000 for the first three in line. The remaining 497 in the queue received gift cards worth Rs. 500 each. The first in line showed up about 27 hours before the doors opened and camped there! They created quite a stir on social media as well, with #HMLovesPhoenixPune hitting the Twitter trends map on no.1 position for several hours. Instagram too was flooded with pictures of the store as the fashionistas of the city raided it.

The women’s section is a paradise for those who love basics, from tops, and plain tees to big, bulky scarves and woolen, floor-length cardigans, they had it all. Personal favourites were their t-shirts with some really quirky quotes, and the shoes! I don’t think there was a pair of shoes I didn’t like in there.
The men’s section was quite trendy (and surprisingly equally crowded!) with some really nice sweaters and cardigans that I would wear myself. They have an entire section dedicated to the very classy Modern Essentials Collection by David Beckham – loved their jackets here.
The store also has a small kids collection which was actually my favourite section, with tiny sweaters that had sequined characters on them. I found myself secretly wishing they would make some of those items for grown-ups too! They also had several Halloween special outfits and accessories from which I totally fell in love with the glittery cat-ears!
