They had me at the name. If you’re anything like me on weekends, hunger pangs strike only http://sman8jkt.sch.id/buga/3766 after 10 pm and often in the dead of the night. So a new option to satisfy my midnight cravings had me very excited. I had heard about Midnight Mario through a friend and decided to give it a go. I was not disappointed.
Midnight Mario is a fairly new venture that opened for business on May 6, and delivers a mix of Indian and Continental food from 10 pm to 5 am, at a rather reasonable price! They offer your regular Paninis, Pasta, Pizzas, and Burgers, as well as some more filling meals like Chicken Stroganoff and Goan Xacuti and Rice. Their Indian food, called the Desi Mario, comprises of popular favourites like Butter Chicken, Rajma Chawal and several wraps. They have also included a Survival Food (Month End) section where they have options like Keema Pav and Egg Bhurji at Rs. 80 and less. In fact, everything on their menu falls within the range of Rs. 60-250!
We ordered a Jucy Lucy – a fusion burger with a juicy lamb patty, grilled red peppers and onions, a generous layer of cheese, lettuce and siracha sauce. As promised, the lamb patty was soft and juicy, and the siracha sauce was just perfect – not overwhelmingly spicy to mask the taste of the meant, but not too mild either.
I also wanted to try something a little less common so I ordered the BBQ Chicken Panini – simmer shredded chicken in barbeque sauce, grilled with fresh mozzarella and caramelised onions on Italian bread, served with a side of French fries. The combination of BBQ sauce and caramelised onion was a good mix, and the chicken was cooked to perfection. This one is a tad on the sweeter side though. The bread, as expected, wasn’t the typical white, French Panini loaf, but the closest I’ve seen in Pune. Up until now I have not personally come across anyone serving, selling or making white Panini bread.
Overall, the meat and bread was really fresh, very reasonable and rather satisfying. I would definitely order from here again. Their menu itself is pretty cute looking, and I found their packaging rather impressive too! It is perfect for college students, working youngsters who live on their own, or as they say, anyone with their #Habshi mode on! You can check out their entire menu on Zomato.
