INIFD – Shilp: The Language of Emotions

Pune was pleased to celebrate 10 years of glory and success, by hosting the Annual Fashion Show and Exhibition 2014-15 – Shilp: The Language of Emotions”. The show was an initiative to express human emotions through art and was showcased at The Westin, Pune on January 02, 2015.
This fashion extravaganza was an evening to remember as the guests witnessed some spectacular designs in each of the four sequences – Pride, Passion, Jealousy and Spirit of Womanhood. The event showcased 40 magnificent and breathtaking garments, all designed by the students of INIFD Deccan Pune. The event also showcased an Exhibition of home décor artefacts and paintings on the themes such as Colours of Life, Achromous Elegance, Circle of Life, Artoholic, Everlasting Love, Evolving Beauty and Vibrant Colours. The passion, dedication and creative brilliance of the students was reflected in their creations on the theme of emotions.
This grand event unfolded in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. James Ferreira (International Fashion Designer) and the Jury for the event were Vidya Tiwari (Editor of Citadel Magazine), Mrs. Kashmira Antia (Winner of Mrs. Commonwealth International – Asia Pacific 2014-2015, London, UK) and Rasika Wakalkar, a young entrepreneur who followed her heart, gave Pune its first multi-designer store Rudraksh & has launched over 200 designers in a  span of 7 years. The renowned Fashion Choreographer Mr. Lovell Prabhu was the Show Director.
Mr. Amit Agarwal (Director of INIFD, Deccan Pune) said, “Our mission this time is to present an amalgamation of fashion art and human emotions in the creations by our talented students. Painting and music are art forms that have long been associated with human emotions but this time you’ll find emotions evoked through elegant drapes, striking silhouettes, and sharp cuts. This time it will be a grand show in lines of international fashion weeks, with world class production, exclusive designs and a bunch of aspiring designers whose dreams are just about to come to reality.”
INIFD (Deccan, Pune) was started by Mr. Amit Agarwal on January 2, 2005 and is one of the most prestigious design institutes in the country. It has been a consistent winner of the ‘Most Enterprising Center’ for the past eight consecutive years. With over 180 centres across India, INIFD has over 15000 students passing out every year across the country. It has now collaborated with the Istituto di ModaBurgo, Milan (Italy). INIFD Deccan offers its students an exposure of national and international creative and business environments. Apart from technical and computerized training, INIFD (Deccan) also focuses on giving practical knowledge and training to their students.
