Punekars, the 2014 schedule for the elections has been announced! On April 17, the elections will be held in Pune. State election commission has already asked the voters to confirm their registry and cards and update them or apply for them immediately so as to get them enlisted before the last date for filing of nomination for the candidates. This means voters have less than a month’s time to ensure that they can vote on the day of election.

You are eligible to vote if:
A)You’re an Indian citizen
B) You’re 18 years of age or older as on 1st January, 2014
C) You’re not disqualified by the Election Commission
Here are a few simple steps to help you get a Voter ID card.
Get your name registered in the voters’ list by filling the “Form 6” at camps, that will be organised in various parts of Pune on March 9. Click here to fill Form 6
If you are an Indian, but living outside the country, then fill the “Form 6 A” and get your name registered in voters’ list. Click here to fill Form 6 A
If there are errors in your Voter ID card related to your name or address, then get it corrected by filling “Form 8”. Click here to fill Form 8
If your residential address has been changed, then get it updated by filling “Form 8 A”. Click here to fill Form 8 A
Once you have filled the form, print a copy of it and ensure to carry a few passport size photographs of yourself. The other documents you’ll be requiring are mentioned below:
* Address Proof
(i) Bank / Kisan / Post Office current Pass Book, or
(ii) Applicants Ration Card / Passport / Driving License / Income Tax Assessment Order, or
(iii) Latest Water / Telephone / Electricity / Gas Connection Bill for that address, either in the
name of the applicant or that of his / her immediate relation like parents etc., or
(iv) Postal department’s posts received / delivered in the applicant’s name at the given address.
* Age Proof
Proof of date of birth to be attached are as under:
(i) Birth certificate issued by a Municipal Authorities or district office of the Registrar of
Births & Deaths or Baptism certificate; or
(ii) Birth certificate from the school (Govt. / Recognised) last attended by the applicant or
any other recognised educational institution; or
(iii) Illiterate or semi-illiterate applicant who is not in possession of any of the above
document are required to attach a declaration in prescribed format by either of the
parents already included in the electoral roll in support of the applicants age. The
format will be supplied on demand.
N.B. In the case of applicants born on or after 26.01.1989, only birth certificate issued by the
Municipal Authorities or district office of the Registrar of Births & Deaths is acceptable.
* Identity Proof :
Copy of Passport, PAN Card, Adhaar Card, Election Card, Duly Signed College Identity Card
