Yes, it is Durga Puja time and most of Bengalis (and now even non-Bengalis) want to go pandal hopping and seek Maa’s blessings. While the thoughts are good, it will be of great benefit if you have a general idea of which pandals are to be visited. After all, getting the blessings along with some entertainment and food is the norm. Here is the compiled list for the pujo.
BANGIYA SANSKRITI SANSAD
One of the popular places to be for the pujas, it will be celebrating its 74th year and the usual round of good celebrations and food will be up here. It might be interesting to start your Durga Puja pandal hopping from this place.

KHADKI KALI BARI
This pandal has a history, for being the first one in the city. It has managed to retain it essence and its simplicity too. This year, check out some authentic entertainment from Kolkata, apart from the usual bhog.
Venue: Near the Ayyappa temple, Khadki
This too is a seasoned place for organising a pandal which has been attracting crowd. Started 28 years back, you can find an interesting food festival where special sweets have come from caterers from Kolkata.
Venue: Tirumal Pillai Sanskriti Bhavan, Pimpri Chinchwad
Another interesting pandal which is in its 10th year, a whole lot of activity has been organised this year which includes a play, artistes from Kolkata and so on. It would be an interesting place to catch up on religious as well as lighthearted things.

ARMED FORCES MEDICAL COLLEGE
It is another place where history meets religion. This institution has been celebrating Durga Puja for the last 52 years and this year too, the decoration and the usual work have been done by the army officers and their families. You can enjoy the bhog here made by the organisers.
