The happiest international music festival is back! And this year, the festival has gone a step further with events and impromptu concerts across the city from morning till evening. This year, it is organised by Alliance Française Pune and Max Mueller Bhavan Pune, in collaboration with the Pune Municipal Corporation and venue partners High Spirits, La
Bouchée d’Or, Swig and Cocoparra.
Since 1982, the Fête de la Musique is being celebrated every year in France in the month of June. The idea of bringing people together to make or to enjoy music found great response; and other countries, too, started to celebrate the world music day in a similar fashion. Amateur and professional musicians are encouraged to perform in the streets. Many free
concerts are organized, making all genres of music accessible to the public.
Max Mueller Bhavan Pune joined in this festive and joyful event by organizing a musical evening on this day in collaboration with the Alliance Française de Pune. For years now, the stage has been brought to life with different kind of musical performances, in every possible language and style.
The 8th edition of Fete de la Musique in Pune marks multiple venue collaborations besides Alliance Francaise de Pune and Max Mueller Bhavan Pune. Esteemed organisations like the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Australian Embassy have joined hands to develop musical exchange between the city centres and the outlying areas.
Performances at La Bouchee d’Or, SWIG, High Spirits, Pune Station (Platform 1), Public Transport buses (PMT / JNNURM), Vishrambaug Wada, Sambhaji Park, Canal Road Jogging Tracks, Cocoparra etc. will add cheer to the festival which is steadily extending its horizons. The people of Pune will be up for a surprising treat with impromptu concerts across the city, when you least expect it.
Mr. Mahesh Pathak, Pune Municipal Commissioner, shall be gracing the event by his presence at the Sambhaji Park performance at 9:30 am.
