Some people visit the mountains once, some, more than once, some of them go every year, but for Pune’s Nitin Joshi and Dhaval Apte, the mountains have literally become their homes, you will find them there for almost 4 to 5 months in the year. Once the season time starts i.e. June to October, these guys take off with their bikes and go on rides with different groups of people, making them experience the same adrenaline rush and beauty of nature that they did, the first time they went there, and have been continuing to do so ever since. How do they do this? Say hello to Tyremark!
Tyremark is an adventure biking company that thrives on the passion for riding, love for adventure and a longing to explore the beauty of nature. A brainchild of Nitin Joshi and Dhaval Apte, the idea of starting the company first came into their heads when they both took their first trip together to Leh-Ladakh in the late 90s. After a few more trips together, experiencing a few hardships and facing almost all the situations that could go wrong on a biking trip to the Himalayas, they were confident that they had gained enough experience to take a bunch of people on the expedition and give them all the necessary guidance and support that they’d need to have a hassle free trip.
Today Tyremark organizes biking tours to places such as Leh-Ladakh, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, Nepal, Rajasthan, Goa, Tibet, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, Jeep Safaris to North India, Everest Base Camp Treks, Mountain Cycling trips in Manali, River Rafting tours in Dandeli, and many others. “If things go well and everything works out as planned, we will hopefully be organizing a biking expedition to Spain next year,” says Dhaval, who is currently on his way to Leh-Ladakh for the second time this year.
“We plan their whole bike trip for them and take care of everything right from providing accommodation, a backup vehicle, along with mechanic in case of the bike breaking down, accommodation in hotels/tents at different locations and border permissions. We also ensure that apart from following the basic regulations, the participant gets enough leeway to do things their own way and have fun. That’s what makes Tyremark different,” says Nitin Joshi, who just got back from his Spiti expedition.
Most of the people who go on trips with Tyremark seem to enjoy thoroughly and want to be a part of all of their trips. Vinayak, after his recent trip to Leh-Ladakh with Tyremark said, “I met some amazing, like-minded people on the trip and I’m extremely happy about it. I’m hopefully going for my next trip with them in August.”
The season time is still around and Tyremark’s yearly trips are taking place one after the other. So if you think you could use a vacation to the Himalayas this season, and are in the mood for some adventure, you know who to get in touch with!
