It is always a moment of pride when fellow Punekars and their brainchild take the limelight! Pune-based start-up Sokrati gets acquired by multinational digital media giant, Dentsu.
Sokrati is a data-driven performance marketing agency co-founded by Ashish Mehta (CEO), Anubhav Sonthalia (COO), Santosh Gannavarapu (SMB Head) and Kaushik Paranjape (CTO). It will now be relaunched as Merkle in India, a US-based data-driven performance marketing agency.
Sokrati specializes in search and performance marketing and develops integrated marketing strategies for brands based on data analytics, CRM tools, and hyperlocal marketing. Their clients are primarily from finance, automotive and telecom sectors; such as Ebay, OLA, LINE, Kotak Life Insurance, and Airtel.
It was Sokrati’s strength in data, analytics, performance media, in addition to their experience with e-commerce and mobile that led Dentsu to select them. The hope is that Sokrati’s ability in CRM and data will help accelerate the launch of Merkle in India and further support their data practice.
This is overall great news for Sokrati. They believe in changing the face of digital marketing. By joining hands with media giant Dentsu and launching Merkle, they will be able to dominate the fast growing Indian digital advertising market. With the two companies merged as one, they will now be the largest in search and performance, with close to 50% of their staff dedicated to digital marketing.
The co-founders of Sokrati will now be a part of the Dentsu Aegis Network leadership team in India. They have clearly expressed their enthusiasm to be joining forces with world-leading agency Merkle and make a global footprint. Here’s wishing you guys the best!
