Koregaon Park, Pune is synonymous with the Osho Ashram, the beautiful green lanes, and it’s many eateries. But when it comes to shopping, KP isn’t exactly the first place that comes to mind. A shopping spree in Pune usually leads people to street shopping on MG Road or FC Road, or directly to Phoenix Marketcity for the branded goodies. But what if you want something in between? That’s where I believe Koregaon Park is absolutely perfect; lined with small quaint boutiques that always seem to have just what you need.
Osho Chappals Are a Must!
Probably the only bit of street shopping you will do in the area – lanes no. 1 and 2 of KP are home to a couple of street stalls that sell a variety of footwear. They are most popular for their eco-friendly Osho slippers that come in a range of eye-catching colours. These comfortable bamboo-base slippers are highly affordable (Rs. 50 for the original version), look quite trendy and are a must-have from Pune!
Shoe Love is True Love
Stilletos and Lady Gaga (yep, that’s the right name) are two little boutiques in Koregoan Park where you can pick up a cute pair of heels or sandals. They’re obviously not Aldo quality, but they’re definitely worth your money. So, if you’re the kind of person who is easily bored with something, these are perfect and affordable. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something more haute couture, KP does have a Nidhi Bhandari store as well.
Dresses and Gowns
Bebe out of your budget? Lol, mine too! Well, this isn’t exactly Bebe, but I promise you that you’ll find some very pretty options here. There are several stores, such as Envy and I Love Kapda, where you can find great party dresses. My personal go-to place will always be Cupid when I’m looking for an evening gown and it’s extremely reasonable too.
If you think Forever 21 is the only place that has young, fresh and fashionable outfits to offer, then you haven’t been to Busy Bee yet. Located in lane no. 6, this cute little boutique has lots to offer – from retro-chic dresses, crop tops and high slit skirts, to colourful accessories and high heels. They also keep some super quirky custom made lighters, glittery bird cages, dream catchers and the shop itself is strung with fairy lights that makes it look like a little slice of heaven.
To be (branded) or not to be?
If you’ve stuck with me and are still reading – I am about to give you a gift that will leave you thanking me for months to come! Opposite lanes no. 3 & 4, are a line of shops named Brand Boxx, Brandmart, and such. These little shops aren’t much to look at, but they happen to house your favourite high-street brands (yes, even Forever 21) at such discounted prices that will make you faint! These are not fake, but they’re factory rejects, that have maybe one stitch off. These are supposed to be thrown out, but instead are sold for dirt-cheap!
