We are a nation of over a billion people, where close 60% of the population is under the age of 25. This makes the country with one of the largest youth populations in the world. Sadly, however, it is also a fact that only 2% of this population is skilled. Skilled youth, means that the population makes educated and informed decisions that work towards the development of the country. It is for this reason that the UN declared this 15th of July this year as the first ever World Youth Skills Day.

Our government also established the National Skills Development Corporation as a public-private partnership enterprise. This institution aims at providing skill development and knowledge in every field for every youth in the country, in the form of vocational and diploma courses. However, it is not only the government’s responsibility to help those who cannot access quality education; it is also our onus to take. It is with this mindset that Pune’s very own SEED Infotech has agreed to train and teach young adults in the field of IT in collaboration with the NSDC.

The co-founder and Director of SEED, Mr. Shrikant Rasane signed an agreement recently entering into the agreement to become a Training Partner with the NSDC. SEED has had a long history of training over 5,00,000 students in the field of IT, Telecom and Mobile, Hardware and Networking, Mechatronics and BFSI. With the help of NSDC, SEED will be establishing an additional 40 centers across the city and will be aiming at training a whooping 4,00,000 students in the next 10 years.

Hence, it is with pride that we say that the Punekars are taking initiative and taking a stand for bringing our country to the heights we dream of.
